Back to Holland

One part of me is excited to go back, love to be in my own space again with my own people. Missing them lots.

But man! I really don’t want to leave Australia…..again!

It feels like my spiritual home.sounds naff I know….

But anyway, the day had arrived and it was one of those funny days that you can’t really do anything.

Just read a book and done some drawing in the garden and walked around the block with the dog. I had to leave about 2:30 and my friends could take me that time. So I was there quite early but later I hears there were pile ups on the motorway so I was really lucky.

Hana good chat with the guy checking me in. And then to quill some time. The airport is brand new with connection points for mobiles and free internet so it was a serene look there hahah. I had a quick FaceTime with Ade and the boarding already commenced. I was in the back of the plane with a few Dutch girls, we had a bit of a chat and then started doing our own thing. Apart from being kicked in the back several times by two little kids and a poorly overheated father and mother this flight was chill.i prefer it this way around, first the 4,5 hour one and then setting up for a long night with the 14 hour flight. I watched Bohemian Rhapsody (again) and a few Grace and Frankie’s and finished my book. I knew in the back of my head transfer time was only an ahour so that would be rushing. Good thing was that we didn’t have to wait for ages, that is killing!, when we were landing I asked the other hurls about the transfer time and they pointed out that the landing had taken an hour flying away from Jakarta first and now we we 30 mins late!!

Panic mode!! Unfair we’re in the back of the plane and it

Took forever. We used our Dutch elbows and ran out to find they set in a bus. Oh no! Are they really gonna wait for everyone? Kind of beggingly and agitated we tried to tell that our plane was about to leave, and His guy talked into a walky tally ( in Indonesian) Bang! Closed the doors, right in the middle of peoples faces and stormed off. We whizzed over He airport, jumped out of the bus, with all our quickly collected stuff we hurled to security and the guy dead calmly said that we have 10 mins…. pfff. Chucked our bags on the X-ray machine ( had my bottle taken) and ….relax! And we even had time for a wee. After that we started chatting about our fantastic times in Perth and we all agreed that we didn’t want to go back)

Well, then the next flight. 14 hours, the flight I always dread, I booked extra legroom space but the you have non movable armrests. And it turned out half the flight ( if not more) was empty. So as I first wanted to sit up with extra legroom and later sleep on one of the three chairs a did a bit of German towel laying ( on advice of the air hostess I must say!)

So after t

ReadyIng my book, and some light food ( I didn’t take the meal, they make me squeaky) and then the dark ended the cabin. As it was 1:30 in Perth and als a short night as we fly towards the light this seemed the best time to nestle myself. I had plenty of cushions and blankets to choose from, air plugs, sleeping mask and for the first time I used a sleeping pill. And I must say, I am never the greatest sleeper, there are still people out for the count now with lights, squealing kids and breakfast, but I did manage to get 6 solid hours sleep. a record!!

And after all that, I am now back in cold and rainy Holland…..
